We had heard that he would be considered for a second round of interviews the other day and it appears as if those interviews went well.
According to Jon Heyman of the MLB Network, the Twins are expected to name Rocco Baldelli as the new manager of the team potentially later today.
Baldelli, 37 years old, was the Tampa Bay Rays major league field coordinator most recently and has been on the fast track to a managerial position since retiring from the game in 2010.
According to fan contributor Lavelle E. Neal and the Star Tribune, Baldelli would be a good fit as he "can connect with young players and understands the importance of analytics, traits that appear to be of greater importance in today’s game."
