It's last cowboy (or cowgirl) standing!
From the day that the long awaited Red Dead Redemption 2 video game launched last month, everybody has been raving about it. It's become a daily point of conversation on The Power Trip Morning show as members touch base on where they are in the game and discuss gameplay as best they can without throwing out spoilers.
One of the things that's come up time and time again are questions surrounding the forthcoming online mode that will officially launch in the next coming weeks. But before it can officially launch, it has to unofficially launch, and the online beta launched yesterday for players who bought the expensive collector's edition version of the game and for others the next few days going forward.
While you can surely join up with your buddies to rob a train or raid some camps, the headline note of the release was the Battle Royale mode that pins 32 cowboys or cowgirls against each other in an adaptive and shrinking universe until it's last cowboy standing.
Along with Battle Royale, there's a new story mode that begins with you creating your own character and being sent to prison. Like in the main storyline there's missions and quests but in a world where other online players exist and can mess around with you and the success of your missions.
If you're interested in playing the online beta, here's when you specifically will be able to depending on when you got the game...
- Tuesday, Nov. 27: Red Dead Redemption 2 Ultimate Edition owners. The code can be found in your game’s packaging.
- Wednesday, Nov. 28: anyone who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on Oct. 26
- Thursday, Nov. 29: anyone who played Red Dead Redemption 2 between Oct. 26 and Oct. 29
- Friday, Nov. 30: all owners of Red Dead Redemption 2.
