Kyle Rudolph named Vikings Walter Payton man of the year Nominee for 2018

Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph is known for the things that he is able to do on the football field.

For the last eight seasons you've seen him reel in big passes, pave the way for running backs and protect his quarterbacks in the pocket. But today Rudolph is recognized not for his physical abilities as a football player but more so for the size of his heart and the things that he's done off the field.

You may not be familiar with Kyle's good deeds with the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's hospital because he's never plastered them all over social media or made a big deal about his involvement, but from day one and his first visit to the hospital Kyle knew that he had found a new "home".

Since beginning his partnership with the hospital, Kyle and his wife Jordan have opened Kyle Rudolph's End Zone which opened to patients in December of 2017. The 2,500 square foot space houses an basketball court, video games area, kitche, sports simulator and more with the intent to allow children visiting the hospital and area to escape, engage in therapeutic play and get a taste of "normal" life while still be under the supervision and care they may need.

Yesterday, the vikings announced Kyle as the recipient of this year's award on behalf of the Vikings and they released a crazy emotional video that highlights Kyle's impact on these kids.
