Twins sign infielder Ronald Torreyes | KFAN 100.3 FM

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have signed infielder Ronald Torreyes to a one-year contact.

Torreyes, 26, played 41 games with the New York Yankees last season, hitting .280 (28-for-100) with seven doubles, one triple, seven RBI, nine runs scored and a .294 on-base percentage.  In addition to his time with the Yankees, Torreyes also played 26 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and four games with Single-A Tampa.

The Libertador, Venezuela native has played parts of four seasons in major league baseball with the Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers, hitting .281 (162-for-576) with 30 doubles, six triples, four home runs and 56 RBI in 229 career games.

The Twins roster is now at 39.
