Report: Vikings closing in on restructured deal with Riley Reiff

Minnesota Vikings v New York Giants

It was reported Monday that the Vikings wanted their starting left tackle to restructure his contract. This was coming after trading for Yannick Ngakoue, who had to take a pay cut to play in Minnesota this season.

Riley Reiff was given until Tuesday to decide if he was willing to take a pay cut to stay in Minnesota. Field Yates reported that the Vikings are closing in on a deal that will keep Reiff in purple for the near future.

From the sounds of things on Monday afternoon, Reiff seemed to be out the door. Something must have changed, meaning the Vikings will be able to keep Brian O’Neill at right tackle in 2020.

The Vikings offensive line has been far from great over the last two seasons, so keeping some sort of continuity at left tackle should be a plus moving forward.
