With the COVID-19 protocols put in place for the 2020 season, the Vikings couldn’t get eyes on their newly acquired defensive end until Thursday’s practice. Yannick Ngakoue had to go through his quarantine before joining the team for his first practice in Minnesota.
Ngakoue will wear number 91 for the Vikings, after he must have struck some sort of deal with Jalyn Holmes. Holmes tweeted this out after making the switch to his new jersey number.
The former Jacksonville Jaguar had a message for Vikings fans, saying “I’m just excited to get to work and get to quarterbacks.”
The Vikings needed depth along their defensive line and they got more than that when they traded for another elite pass rusher. Both Ngakoue and Danielle Hunter are 25 years old, meaning they could have a long career together in Minnesota.
