Cameron Dantzler and Mike Hughes ruled out against Titans

Minnesota Vikings v Indianapolis Colts

The hits just keep on coming for the Minnesota Vikings as they announced on Friday afternoon that two of their starting cornerbacks are out against the Titans.

Not only has the defense struggled as an overall unit but the injuries have made things even worse. Anthony Barr is out for the season, Michael Pierce opted out before the season started and Danielle Hunter was placed on IR before week one. Hunter can return after this week, but he’s battling a neck injury so it’s hard to speculate on whether or not he’ll be back.

The defensive line has struggled to get any sort of push and it has hurt the youth in the Vikings secondary. Now they will be without two more starters at the cornerback position with Cameron Dantzler and Mike Hughes both slated to miss Sunday’s matchup.

That’s five starters out against a Titans offense that has one of the hardest running backs to bring down in the NFL in Derrick Henry. Although the Vikings are back playing at an empty U.S. Bank Stadium, the game on Sunday could get out of hand with all the injuries within the team’s defense.

On the bright side, Vikings fans will get to watch another week of Jeff Gladney in the secondary. The former TCU star made some nice plays in Indianapolis, so he’s a player to keep an eye on against Ryan Tannehill on Sunday.
