In a battle of two desperate teams, the Minnesota Vikings jumped on the Houston Texans first. Dalvin Cook capped off a nice drive with a five-yard touchdown run, making the score 7-0.
Justin Jefferson had a nice play on the drive as well, hauling in a play-action pass from Kirk Cousins for 29 yards. On the previous Texans drive rookie defensive end D.J. Wonnum recorded his first career sack.
Wonnum has drawn comparisons to Danielle Hunter as he was a mid-round draft pick with a lot of raw talent. With Hunter still not ready to come off IR, it looks as if Wonnum is making the most of his opportunity.
