The Vikings are coming off their fourth loss of the season and it sounds as if they will be without another key player when they take on the Atlanta Falcons Sunday. Chad Graff of The Athletic reported Tuesday morning that Dalvin Cook isn’t expected to play Sunday.
Cook suffered an adductor strain early in the second half against Seattle. When he came off the field it seemed to have taken some of the life away from the Vikings, who ended up giving up 21 unanswered points.
If Cook isn’t able to go it will likely be a combination of Alexander Mattison and Mike Boone. Mattison is coming off one of his best days on the ground, rushing the ball 20 times for 112 yards in Seattle.
Atlanta has been one of the worst teams in the NFL this season and they just fired their head coach and GM. The Vikings have some solid backs behind Cook, so there shouldn’t be any rush to play him this week, with the bye the following week.
