The Vikings secondary is going to be extremely thin in Sunday’s matchup with the Packers. Cameron Dantzler is still on the COVID-19 list and Holton Hill and Mike Hughes are both out due to injury.
On Friday afternoon the team announced that Hughes has been placed on the injured reserve list.
Hughes has battled injuries since entering the league and has battled with neck injuries in the last two seasons. Despite his injuries, Hughes has been the most experienced cornerback on the roster.
The secondary has been a weak point for the Vikings over their first six games and losing Hughes for at least three games won’t help their cause.
Jeff Gladney, Kris Boyd and Harrison Hand are all young players that have shown off some skill. However, Aaron Rodgers is playing at an MVP level so it’s unfair to expect a good game out of the Vikings’ secondary this weekend.
