The Minnesota Vikings snuck out a close victory against the Carolina Panthers in Week 12 after a fourth quarter comeback led by Kirk Cousins. Cousins finished his day completing over 75 percent of his passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns.
Cousins’ great day through the air got some recognition this week, as he was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after his strong performance.
The team got some more good news this week, as Adam Thielen was activated from the COVID-19 list. Cousins put on one of his strongest performances of the season last week, and he did so without his leading red zone target in Thielen.
Without Thielen last week, Justin Jefferson, Bisi Johnson, Chad Beebe and Kyle Rudolph stepped up, each catching seven passes against the Panthers. Adding Thielen back into the mix should only set the Vikings passing offense up for more success as the season goes on.
Cousins shattered another narrative last week in proving that he can lead his team to fourth quarter comebacks. The win kept the Vikings in playoff contention for now, but it will still be an uphill battle over the final five weeks.
