Cameron Dantzler named PFF’s Defensive Player of the Week

Jacksonville Jaguars v Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings kept their playoff hopes alive after an overtime victory against the Jaguars in Week 13. It was a closer game than many had originally thought, but Cameron Dantzler made sure the Vikings came home with the win.

Dantzler’s efforts led to the strongest performance of his rookie campaign and was also the best performance out of any cornerback on the roster this year. PFF named Dantzler their Defensive Player of the Week after his elite performance against Jacksonville.

He finished his day with four tackles, an interception and a forced fumble that he also recovered. According to PFF, Dantzler was targeted seven times and only allowed one catch for seven yards.

Despite a shaky start to the season, Dantzler has been the best cornerback on the Vikings roster over the last month. He still gave up a two-point conversion that would have stopped the game from going to overtime, but his progress has been spectacular since the Week 1 matchup with Green Bay.
