The Minnesota Wild opened up a four-game set against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday night and it was a bit of a wakeup call for this young, upstart Minnesota team. After putting the Kings away with five goals on Thursday, it was the Wild getting blitzed with a five-spot Saturday night dropping the opener 5-1 at home.
The Wild got a goal from Matt Dumba (6:49 in the 1st). Colorado goals from O'Connor (3:02, 1st), Donskoi (19:43, 1st), Rantanen (3:07, 2nd), Saad (12:17, 3rd) and Compher (14:55, 3rd).
