Well, it's not exactly the kind of news that the Vikings wanted to hear on a Wednesday, but it could just be precautionary as well. On the Wednesday afternoon practice report, the Minnesota Vikings had running back Dalvin Cook listed as a "did not participate" at practice.

Cook went down twice last Sunday with injuries but was able to walk off the field under his own power and return to the field of play both times.

Officially, Cook's ailment is listed as an ankle injury. While it was encouraging that Cook returned to play against the Cardinals, anybody who has ever had an ankle sprain of any kind understands how painful those sprains can be the days following the actual incident that caused the injury. Swelling, tightness and bruising can make the area extra tender to both touch and movement making the injury almost get worse before it gets better.

Let's not rule Cook out for Week #3 yet but it's certainly a situation to monitor as the week goes on and Cook's practice status gets updated.

In other news Anthony Barr (knee), Christian Darrisaw (groin), Everson Griffen (concussion), Eric Kendricks (hip), Patrick Peterson (toe) and Baushad Breeland (back/shoulder) were all limited at Wednesday's practice. The only note within that bunch worth noting is that Eric Kendricks was working through a quad injury last week and this week it's a hip. Nothing too concerning, but note worthy.
