The news that we've been waiting on for the past 24 hours has finally arrived.
The Minnesota Vikings have officially hired Kwesi Adofo-Mensah as the new general manager of the team.
Adofo-Mensah comes to the Vikings after spending two seasons with the Cleveland Browns as Vice President of Football Operations and 7 seasons with the 49ers as the Director of Football Research & Development.
Kwesi, 40 years old, is said to have an analytical approach to the game of football and with his background it should be no surprise. Holding a degree in economics from Princeton and a Master's degree in the same field from Stanford, expect a methodical and data driven approach from the new head man.
First order of business on the docket for Adofo-Mensah is finding a new head coach for the Vikings. It's unclear how it will factor in to the final decision but Kwesi brings in overlapping history with head coaching candidates DeMeco Ryans, Kevin O'Connell, Mike McDaniel and Jim Harbaugh.
Welcome to Minnesota Kwesi, glad to see we rolled out our best winter weather for your "warm" welcome!
