Reports of a shooting outside the South Education Center in Richfield, MN started spreading this afternoon have now been confirmed.
According to the chief of police in Richfield, two students were shot outside the entrance to the school. One student has passed away as a result of his injuries, the other is in critical condition presently receiving treatment for their wounds.
"This is a tragic day in the city of Richfield," the Chief explained. "At 12:07 pm we had a shooting that occurred at the South Education Center. Officers arrived and discovered that two students had been shot on the sidewalk outside the school...suspects fled the scene immediately...officers conducted a search and determined that no further threat existed."
