After a two year wait, Paul Allen is set to make is NHL play-by-play debut!

Before a global pandemic took over all of our plans and everything that we considered normal, a plan was hatched over in St. Paul. With some changes on the broadcast team imminent for the Minnesota Wild, the team reached out to KFAN's Paul Allen, the voice of the Minnesota Vikings, inquiring about his interest in calling an NHL game on the radio. Back in 2020 the invite was accepted and PA began preparations which included calling games to himself in a voice recorder from the press box and warming up with some virtual play-by-play calls with KFAN and Zach Halverson.

Of course, COVID-19 shelved those plans and we never knew if it was going to happen again.

Fast forward to this morning when Michael Russo broke the news that Allen plans to call two road Wild games in March of 2022!

PA confirmed on his show today that he'll be calling the March 21st and March 24th Wild games against the Canucks and Golden Knights respectively.

Wonder what it's going to be like? Check out the virtual play-by-play call from PA and Halvey in the player below...
