Vikings fans are pretty familiar with edge rusher Za'Darius Smith, he had a decent amount of success against the Minnesota Vikings while with the Green Bay Packers. Well, according to an announcement from the Vikings official twitter account there's mutual interest on both sides to make him a Viking next season.
Smith had verbally agreed to a deal with the Baltimore Ravens earlier during the free agency period but for one reason or another he pulled out before putting pen to paper and hit the market once again.
The Vikings, who are preparing for a shift to a 3-4 defense have been mulling over what it might take to make a successful transition. Suffice it to say, adding Za'Darius Smith would be the kind of jump start that Ed Donnatel, Kevin O'Connell and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah are looking for.
