OAKLAND, CA – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated shortstop Carlos Correa from the 10-day Injured List.

Correa has missed the Twins’ last 11 games with a right finger contusion, after sustaining the injury on May 5 at Baltimore when he fouled a ball off his hand in the seventh inning. The 27-year-old was signed by the Twins during spring training and has hit .255 (24-for-94) with five doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, 12 runs scored and eight walks in 24 games for the Twins this season.

To make room for Correa on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned infielder Royce Lewis to Triple-A St. Paul. Lewis, 22, made his major league debut on May 6 and appeared in 11 games for the Twins, hitting .308 (12-for-39) with four doubles, two home runs, five RBI, one walk, five runs scored, a .325 on-base percentage and an .889 OPS.
