*Minnesota Vikings Press Release
Eagan, Minn. (Oct. 5, 2022) – Vikings K Greg Joseph has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week, the NFL announced today.
In the Week 4 victory against the Saints, Joseph connected on all five of his field goal attempts, including a game-winning, 47-yard field goal. Joseph’s five made field goals set a new single-game career high for him and made him the ninth kicker in franchise history to make at least five field goals in a game. Joseph is the only kicker in the NFL this season to accomplish this feat.
Through the first four weeks of the season, Joseph is 8-for-10 on field goals, including a career-long, 56-yard field goal in Week 1 against Green Bay. That kick tied the franchise record for longest made field goal. Joseph has been perfect on field goals from less than 50 yards, connecting on all seven of his attempts.
Joseph is the eighth kicker in franchise history to win NFC Special Teams Player of the Week and the first to do so since K Dan Bailey won the award in 2019. Joseph is the first player to win NFC Player of the Week honors under Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell.
