Former NBA Player Drew Gordon Dead At 33: Report

Former NBA player Drew Gordon, has reportedly died at the age of 33 following a car accident, the Athletic's Shams Charania reported Thursday (May 30).

Gordon, the older brother of Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon, appeared in nine NBA games for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2014 after going undrafted in 2012 and spending the majority of his professional career overseas.

"Drew Gordon has passed away in a car accident at 33 years old. Gordon played nine games for the 76ers in the 2014-15 season and has played professionally in US and abroad since college ball at New Mexico and UCLA. Drew is the older brother of Nuggets F Aaron Gordon. RIP," Charania wrote on his X account.

The fatal accident took place in Portland, Oregon, Gordon's agent, Calvin Andrews, confirmed to ESPN's Marc J. Spears.

"Rest in Peace to a great man, father, brother, all around person and basketball player who traveled the world playing the game. My prayers to his wife, children and family. So happy I got to be in his presence in April in Portland. Will miss you brother. Horrible news," Spears wrote on his X account.

Gordon began he's collegiate career at UCLA in 2008 and transferred to New Mexico in 2010. The San Diego native averaged 13.7 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists during his senior season, earning first-team All-MWC honors and winning the MWC tournament MVP award.
