Dynarex Corporation expanded their recall of "Dynacare Baby Powder, 14 oz., as well as 647 cases of item number 4874, Dynacare Baby Powder, 4 oz.," on Monday (October 28) due to a potential asbestos contamination.

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, "373 cases of item number 4875" are now officially included in the recall expansion. Asbestos, as defined by the FDA, is "a naturally occurring mineral that is often found near talc, an ingredient in many cosmetic products" that is known to cause carcinogenic health risks.

The recalled baby powder products were shipped out to distributors "on or after January 18, 2024," and sent to a handful of states including multiple stores in Minnesota. Affected lot numbers (featured on the bottom of the bottles) are listed on the FDA's website along with the batch number, expiration date, and pack size.

Health officials recommend that customers "discontinue use immediately and return it for a full refund."

Individuals with questions can contact "Dynarex Corporation at 888-396-2739 or 845-365-8200 during business hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, or via email at recall@dynarex.com."
