#92Noon: Predicting the #Vikings 53-man Roster!

By 3pm Saturday, the Vikings will trim their way to a final 53-man roster. Very difficult to narrow this thing down, given the OLine situation with potential for more additions to come, but I'm giving it a shot.

I LOVE participating in completely arbitrary guessing games. The following is my prediction(ANSWER KEY) for what the Final Roster will look like tomorrow:

QBs: Kirk Cousins, Trevor Siemian, Kyle Sloter (3)

-Let's just keep Cousins healthy so it doesn't matter that Siemian was hideous in the preseason.

RBs: Dalvin Cook, Latavius Murray, Mike Boone (3)

-Mike Boone did look better throughout the preseason than fellow undrafted rookie Roc Thomas. I hope Roc is on the practice squad so we can keep playing the parody song #92Noon.

FB: CJ Ham (1)

-CJ is a bowling ball, and he moves the chains. Catches it well, blocks well, just a nice piece of this offense that I think OC John DeFilippo likes having around.

TE: Kyle Rudolph, David Morgan, Tyler Conklin (3)

-I picked the rookie draft pick Conklin over Blake Bell because of what Conklin is projected to offer as a pass-catcher and potential offensive weapon. But you saw both playing a ton in the final preseason game, so it isn't a runaway decision. Conklin spent most of the Summer nicked up, but has really shown the athleticism throughout camp and preseason.

WR: Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, Laquon Treadwell, Brandon Zylstra, Chad Beebe (5)

-Kendall Wright does nothing for me and does nothing for this team. A couple targets and 1 catch in the entire preseason, his snaps dwindled each game and didn't even play last night. He'd be 4th in line and he doesn't play special teams? Interesting. Zylstra and Beebe both contribute much more than Wright. I really liked Stacy Coley until the injury bit him. Kid can't stay healthy, it seems.

OL: Riley Reiff, Tom Compton, Pat Elflein, Mike Remmers, Rashod Hill, Brett Jones, Aviante Collins, Danny Isidora, Brian ONeill (9)

-Soooooo....I basically just named 9 guys that play on the OLine for the Vikings....there's not another name on roster that fits the 53 by any stretch of the imagination...also, might be subject to change very soon.

Total Offensive Player Count: 24

Now, for the Defense:

DL: Everson Griffen, Linval Joseph, Sheldon Richardson, Danielle Hunter, Tashawn Bower, Jalyn Holmes, Jaleel Johnson, Ifeadi Odenigbo, Brian Robison, Stephen Weatherly (10)

-BRob's swan song keeps playing, Stephen Weatherly over David Parry. The D-Line rotation will be lit. Kind of weird, though, that after BRob, the most experienced reserve player will be Weatherly and he's only played in 17 games since being drafted in 2016.

LB: Anthony Barr, Eric Kendricks, Ben Gedeon, Eric Wilson, Garret Dooley. (5)

-Flip a coin between Dooley and Reshard Cliett if you so choose. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Reshard got the nod. Late round pick Devante Downs hasn't shown nearly enough to get beyond the practice squad. Kentrell Brothers is suspended for the first four games of the season, so he'll throw a wrench in this a month from now.

DB: Xavier Rhodes, Trae Waynes, Mac Alexander, Mike Hughes, Terence Newman, Holton Hill, Jayron Kearse, Anthony Harris, Andrew Sendejo, Harrison Smith, George Iloka (11)

-No room at the Inn for Sherels with this group, as I don't see any of the 11 being outright cut. But what if one is being dangled in trade to make our OLine great again? Hypothetically, if somebody above mysteriously disappears in exchange for an O-Lineman, suddenly there's room for our fantastic veteran punt returner. Glory be to Spielman, hallelujah! #MOGA

Defensive Player Total: 26

ST: Daniel Carlson K, Ryan Quigley P, Kevin McDermott LS

-Please make your kicks, Daniel.

Total Specialists: 3

That makes 53! Can't wait for next week when this is hashed out and we're prepping for the Niners!!!!
