The NCAA Transfer Portal Window opened up on Monday, just in time for bowl season, and Dan Patrick is mystified by the timing. He thinks it’s unfortunate that many players will be sitting out of their bowl games because they have obligations to their new school and don’t want to risk injury by suiting up one last time for their old squad. It puts the student athletes in an untenable situation and forces them to forego any postseason involvement.
Dan Patrick: “Would I play in a bowl game if I’m going to another university? No, I would not. If I thought I had pro potential or I was going to get paid when I go to another school? I wouldn’t...It’s bowl season, it’s transfer portal season, and it’s unfortunate because it shouldn’t be happening right now.”
