Here's what I ate on day one on the #PowerTripVegas trip...

So I'm one day into my first trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. If there's one thing that I've learned already it's that there are about a billion different ways that you can do Vegas when you come to town. As for me and my wife, we don't drink, we don't gamble (much) and we won't partake in some of the "adult activities" but that doesn't mean we can't have a good time.

In fact, day one was great!

We're planning to go to a show one of the next two nights but on day one, we walked around a ton and I ate a ton...I mean A TON! And it was awesome!

So, since it's something that you all (either in Vegas or back at home) can relate to, I will be taking you on my food journey throughout the week!

Buckle up, here we go!

After an early flight right at the butt crack of dawn, we landed in Vegas about 7:30am and were at the hotel but 9ish. Since it was so early our rooms weren't ready yet so naturally we ditched out bags and went to grab some breakfast.

Being the grizzled vet that he is, I learned this is about trip number 30 or so to Vegas, Mark Rosen guided my wife and I out to the Peppermill at the end of the strip. It was built in the 70s and still has the 70s diner vibe, but the food is out of this world. Abby and I split a GIANT omelette, hashbrowns and french toast...we're also planning our second trip out there later this morning, SUPER GOOD!

I snacked a little at Buffalo Wild Wings during the meet & greet (cheese curds and chips & salsa) so I "sorta" skipped lunch.

Then we went to Bobby's Burger Palace.

It's a Bobby Flay joint and they're known for their "Crunchburger" which for me was a bacon cheeseburger with crunchy kettle potato chips on top. So that was delicious, but the highlight of this meal was the onion rings that are pictured in the tweet above. It's a light batter, super crispy and a little bit of spice from the pepper in the batter. SUPES SOLID!

Naturally, that wasn't enough to call it a night completely. I was already in bed and I remembered seeing a Krispy Kreme sign on the marquee when walking the strip. So I walked over and got us a six-pack. For those who are interested it was three hot originals, one maple and two raspberry filled glazed donuts.

So that was day one, thanks for taking the journey with me. Be sure I'll be back for another round on day two!

Viva Las Vegas!
