All good things must come to an end, right? Or at least that's what they say. Still, for the folks over at Epic, the creators of Fortnite, I wouldn't blame them for thinking that their reign at the top of the Video Game world would never come to an end. I mean with over 200 million active users and accessibility across any platform you could ever think of, how could you blame them.
But what happens when another game jumps into the water and makes enough of a splash to get noticed by the kings of the hill?
Enter Apex Legends .
The newest battle royale styled game jumped up relatively out of nowhere just one week ago and watching the numbers roll in throughout the week has dropped the jaws of some in the industry. First we heard that the game was flexing to the tune of 10 million players just a few days after release, then the uber flex came. Just one week into its existence, Apex Legends now has 25 million active users and had 2 million simultaneously playing over the weekend.
Those numbers still don't come close to Fortnite's monster 200 million, but only one week in it's getting noticed by the folks over at Epic for sure.
Like Fortnite, Apex Legends is free to play with additional skins and moves available for purchase. Right now it's only available on PC, PS4 and XBOX One.
