Ahhh...the NFL Scouting Combine. A time for NFL executives to get together to grade all the new players getting ready to jump into the NFL, a time for players to show off what they've got and a time for trade rumors to be floated out there to see if there's any nibbles in the pond for teams that are desperate for something.
That's where this story with the Minnesota Vikings comes from.
According to Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports Rick Spielman and the Minnesota Vikings are shopping cornerback Trae Waynes on the trade market in Indianapolis.
The Vikings are a bit strapped for cash this next season with just over $7.2 million in cap space. They've got Mike Hughes coming back this season, Xavier Rhodes is still in the mix, Holton Hill stepped up last season and Mackensie Alexander grew a bunch so they could afford to dish out Trae and shave more than $9 million in cap space heading into free agency.
