For the past 40 years Creative Kidstuff encouraged the imaginations of countless children in the Twin Cities area. Their mission, "to help families play," was lived out through design of their stores as well as the inventory on their shelves. But as liquidation sales and a closing announcement popped up on Wednesday, Creative Kidstuff joined Toys R Us and a handful of other big name toy stores folding to the power on online retailers who have undercut them will low prices and little to no overhead.
As a kid myself, the local toy store was not on my radar but I'm thankful that as a father my little boy has known Creative Kidstuff to be a magical place where his creativity could literally run wild. With every toy you can imagine mixed in with experiential gadgets and experiments displayed throughout the store, it was a memorable experience every time you walked through the door.
The six remaining locations will immediately begin offering liquidation discounts leading to the official closing on June 30th.
