Ladies and gentlemen, the Royal Family has waged a battle against Fortnite.
That's right, at a speech to the YMCA in London, Prince Harry the Duke of Sussex stood in front of the crowd to deliver a prepared speech attacking Fortnite.
"[Fortnite] shouldn't be allowed," Harry said to the gathered crowd. "Where is the benefit of having it in your household? It's created to addict, an addiction to keep you in front of a computer for as long as possible and it's so irresponsible. It's like waiting for the damage to be done and kids turning up on your doorsteps and families being broken down."
It's an interesting stance for the Royal Family to be taking. While I totally understand the issues with being addicted to video games and can admit that Fortnite is right now the most popular game out there. But in a world with free will, free enterprise and free market it's interesting for any political figurehead or member of an oligarchy to specifically go after a specific company. Sure it has happened, but typically members of the family take a position of indifference. Not this time. Prince Harry has waged his own "battle royale" on the game, now we wait and see where it takes him.
