More information has become available following yesterday's scary incident at the Mall of America.
According to eyewitness reports, 24 year old Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda pushed or threw a five year old boy over the edge of the third floor balcony at the mall. The boy suffered serious injuries from the fall and was transported to the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. Aranda attempted to flee the scene before being apprehended by police boarding a light rail train.
As more information surface throughout the day we learned that Aranda had twice previously been banned from the Mall of America for incidents in which authorities became involved.
In July of 2015 he was charged with damaging items with a store, throwing items off the third floor balcony and resisting arrest. In October of the same year he was charged after an incident with a women in which he threw a full glass of water in her face after she refused to buy him food from The Twin Cities Grill. On both incidents he was told not to return to the mall for a full year.
Aranda is being held on suspected attempted homicide.
