Fears surrounding the Coronavirus and COVID-19 have hit close to home and the panic is starting to sink in. Grocery stores are struggling to keep the sheles stocked with non-perishable food items and household goods as the public has come out in droves after sports leagues and schools have started shutting down.
This won't surprise you, but local bulk club stores like Costco were absolute madhouses today. Early this morning, HUNDREDS of people lined up around the building of the Costco in Maple Grove and when the doors opened up it was a mad rush to the back corner of the store for toilet paper.
It wasn't much better around closing time when I went to grab dog food. Thankfully my wife had been stocking us up for the past few days and weeks because THE SHELVES OF COSTCO WERE EMPTY tonight! Checkout lines around closing, when Costco is usually dead, were back to the far side of the store!
