Finally.
Since debuting in 1993, 55 of the 65 Power 5 schools have hosted ESPN’s College GameDay. After next Saturday, make it 56. ESPN announced on the ABC broadcast of Oregon vs. Arizona State that they are bringing the iconic television show to Dinkytown in what will be a de facto Big Ten West title game between the 10-1 Golden Gophers and 9-2 Wisconsin Badgers.
Details on where exactly the festivities will be held have not been released yet. What we do know is that the show will begin at 8 a.m. CT, the game kicks off at 2:30 p.m., and just before 11 a.m. Lee Corso will either don Bucky Badger’s mascot head or will make the Minnesota faithful go crazy by putting on Goldy’s head.
If you want to get you and your sign on TV, expect to wake up early. The gates to the free show viewing typically open around 5 a.m. with lines to get into the coveted pit starting earlier.
Long-range weather forecasts show overnight lows in the upper-20s and highs in the 30s with snow showers Friday-Sunday. What better way to showcase Minnesota on a national stage than with a little snow?
