My Favorite Songs From Twin Cities Summer Jam's Lineup

The 2020 Twin Cities Summer Jam lineup was announced this morning and while winter is still my favorite season, summer is giving it a run for it's money. Canterbury Park was a perfect venue for a music festival and I can't wait to go back in July, especially with this lineup.

Thursday, July 23rd

On Thursday, Blanco Brown will take the stage and based on what I have seen on music videos, the guy seems electric.

Continuing the energy on Thursday will be Nelly who has been the soundtrack to many great nights. From Hot In Herre to his many other hits, I've heard his music blasted in bars and clubs all over the Twin Cities. I can't wait to hear him live for the first time and I hope he plays one of his more underrated songs Just A Dream because I am a sucker for that intro.

Finally, Pitbull. Everyone, including my parents, fell in love with him this past summer. The fact that he wanted to come back makes this even better. He has been a mainstay on stations like KDWB for years and my high school years would not have been the same without him. The great thing is that he's still cranking out hits and regardless of what you think of his music, his live performances are enjoyed by all.

There have been many times in which I joined the dance floor in loudly singing, "IT'S GOING DOWN, I'M YELLING TIMBERRRRR!" and I can't wait to do it under the stars with thousands of others next summer!

Friday, July 24th

I've seen The Fabulous Armadillos a few times now in the St. Cloud area and they are extremely talented. I have driven well over an hour to see them and am happy to see them on this lineup.

I haven't seen LOCASH, but I am very excited to see this band I have heard on the radio for so long in person.

Third Eye Blind is one of those bands I didn't realize until recently how many songs I actually liked of theirs. Obviously there is Semi-Charmed Life and How's It Going to Be, but my favorite is Jumper. I love a song that comes out blazing within the first 10 seconds.

There are very few artists out there that are natural headliners. Zac Brown Band is song of those acts that fit the bill. Meatsauce and many others can't stop talking about how good these guys are live, and one of the best things about this band is that they play covers. From their hits like Chicken Fried to Toes and the countless other tracks that are absolute bangers, they will have a great setlist no matter what they play. Though my favorite of theirs will always be the song they did with Chris Cornell.

Saturday, July 25

Chris Hawkey is really good. Until his rock album comes out, my favorite song of his is Set Free. Enjoy.

She's beautiful, I wait all Sunday for her and I still can't believe she beat THE Bo Bice. Carrie Underwood is the perfect way to close out this festival. So damn talented, with so many killer tracks, but the best thing about her is that she likes hockey players. That's hot.
