P.J. Fleck and company will battle Auburn in the Outback Bowl, according to Stadium's Brett McMurphy.

After a successful 10-2 season, the Gophers will be playing on New Year's Day for the first time since their 2014 campaign ended with the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. Auburn was in the Outback bowl as recently as 2014, a 34-31 loss to Wisconsin.

The game will be played at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Raymond James Stadium, and the payout for each team is $3.5 million.

This will be the first ever meeting between Auburn and Minnesota. The Tigers finished the year 9-3 overall and ranked 12th in the final College Football Playoff rankings. The Gophers were ranked No. 18 at those same rankings.

Gophers fans who head down there will get to soak up the Florida sun with a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
