LISTEN: Talking Prince, Music Festivals & More with Shinedown's Zach Myers

The first time I attended a rock show with a General Admission ticket in the mosh pit was in May of 2011 at the Myth in Maplewood. After a short five minute drive from White Bear Lake High School, my friend and I arrived and waited in line so we'd get a spot up close to see this band I sorta liked. After the show, my life was changed; I loved rock and roll more than I ever have and I fell in love with my new favorite band: Shinedown.

Last week Chris Hawkey and I were able to talk to the band's guitarist Zach Myers on The Power Trip's Hawkcast. He shared the story of how he broke the news of Prince's death, talked about the best music festivals from around the world, and an unreleased song that the band is now sharing along with a t-shirt to fans who make a $50 donation to Direct Relief, an organization that helps the medical community receive the protective equipment they need in order to save lives.
