Famed SJU coach John Gagliardi should have been the coach of the Dolphins!

So check this out.

Over the weekend legendary football coach, the winningest coach in college football history, John Gagliardi passed away at the age of 91. As social media began to tribute the historic coach and wonderful man, the SJU Johnnies twitter account pushed out a crazy letter addressed to coach from Danny Thomas of the Miami Dolphins.

In 1969, the Dolphins were looking for a head coach and Gagliardi was in line to be the guy. In the letter below you can see the Dolphins basically offered him the job.

It's unclear what changed to keep Gagliardi in Collegeville and pushed the Dolphins to hire some guy named Don Shula, but man what a crazy story!
