It's with great sadness that news was shared this morning of that the long and resilient life of legendary Minnesota sports columnist and broadcaster Sid Hartman has come to an end at the age of 100.

The news, shared by his son Chad Hartman came out Sunday afternoon.

Born in Minneapolis on March 15, 1920, Sid's legendary career started as a high schooler delivering papers for the Minneapolis Tribune. At the age of 27, Hartman served as the acting General Manager of the Minneapolis Lakers helping build one of the NBA's first dominant teams.

Insisting that he continue working as a columnist and broadcaster through his 100th birthday, Sid has left a legacy on the Twin Cities and broader sporting world that will not soon be forgotten.

Our condolences go out to the Hartman family.
