Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have signed right-handed pitcher Anibal Sanchez to a one-year non-guaranteed contract.

Sanchez, 33, has played in parts of 12 major league seasons with the Marlins (2006-12) and Tigers (2012-17) posting a career record of 90-94 with a 4.09 ERA (1592.2 IP, 724 ER), 1,414 strikeouts and 535 walks. The 6-foot-0, 205-pound Sanchez made his major league debut in 2006 with the Marlins and was originally signed as a minor league free agent by Boston on January 3, 2001 as a 16-year-old.

To make room on the Twins 40-man roster, they have transferred right-handed pitcher Trevor May to the 60-day disabled list.
