The Minnesota Vikings and veteran defensive end Everson Griffen have agreed to a new restructured deal that will keep him in Minnesota for the 2019 season.
Griffen's new deal shaves $2.9 million off of his 2019 salary cap hit and allows the Vikings to keep a talented player on a more affordable deal.
In 2018 Griffen was plagued by off the field issues and upon his return never jumped back up to his normal standard of play. Still, there is undoubtably talent there and the Vikings are taking a chance that he will still give them something in return.
