There was a lot of thought leading up to Sunday's Week One matchup against the Green Bay Packers when it comes to the conversation on racial justice specifically here in Minneapolis but also throughout our world. Closed door meetings, planning sessions and open conversations were held to hear the thoughts of all involved both on the field and off and the conclusion was a "Moment Of Unity" on the field before Sunday's game.
With George Floyd's family on hand, the Vikings locked arms on the East goal line while for the first time in its history, the Gjallarhorn remained silent before a home Vikings game.Players and staffers donned "Be The Change" t-shirts prior to the game. Vikings players knelt during the national anthem and the Green Bay Packers remained in the locker room as a team.
