Wild claims defenseman Nate Prosser off waivers from St. Louis

ST. PAUL - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has claimed defenseman Nate Prosser off waivers from St. Louis.

Prosser, 31 (5/7/86), appeared in one game with St. Louis this season, registering four hits in 15:23 of ice time against Calgary on Oct. 25. The 6-foot-2, 206-pound native of Elk River, Minn., signed a two-year, two-way contract with the Blues on Aug. 3, 2017. This marks the second time Minnesota has claimed Prosser off waivers from St. Louis (Oct. 2, 2014). Prosser tallied seven points (2-5=7) and 64 blocked shots in 39 games with Minnesota last season. He owns 38 points (7-31=38), 210 penalty minutes (PIM) and 475 blocked shots in 282 career games in parts of eight seasons with the Wild (2009-17). Prosser ranks seventh in franchise history in blocked shots and 10th in games played amongst Wild defensemen.

He has collected two assists in 20 Stanley Cup Playoffs contests with Minnesota and was originally signed as a free agent by the Wild on March 18, 2010. Prosser will wear sweater No. 39 with Minnesota.

The Wild hosts Vegas Golden Knights tonight at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.
