Contrary to reports that surfaced a few weeks ago which said that the Minnesota Vikings and the Philadelphia Eagles would get a rematch of their NFC Championship game to open the season on Thursday Night Football, the Eagles and Vikings will actually square off against each other later in the season in Week 5 in Philly.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer The Eagles are still set to open the season on that Thursday night game but they'll do it at home against the Atlanta Falcons and Matt Ryan instead.

As reported earlier, the Vikings will instead play hosts to the 49ers at home to open the season on September 9th.

So the Vikings will get another shot at the Super Bowl champs but they won't have to do it on the night that the Eagles raise their Super Bowl banner to the rafters, at least that's a plus.
