Just a few weeks after acquiring him for a 5th round draft pick from the Baltimore Ravens, the Minnesota Vikings have cut kicker/punter Kaare Vedvik from their 53-man roster.
Vedvik came into Minnesota and auditioned for the roles of kicker, punter and kick off specialist and struggled from the get go. Kaare missed field goals in both of the Vikings final preseason games and his punting was not much better allowing one return for a TD and booting others in line drived fashion.
So the Vikings will go with their original plan of Dan Bailey kicking FGs, Matt Wile holding and punting and then rookie LS Austin Cutting snapping.
If he clears waivers, Vedvik would be eligible for a spot on the practice squad.
