President Biden calls for calm after shooting of Daunte Wright in Minnesota

(Washington, DC) -- President Biden is calling for calm after the fatal shooting of a Black man in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. During a White House photo-op, Biden said he is praying for the family of 20-year-old Daunte Wright. He argued that the investigation of the shooting needs to be completed. The President said it remains to be determined whether the shooting was accidental or intentional. He noted that peaceful protest is understandable, but argued there is "absolutely no justification for violence." Biden said the anger, pain and trauma that exists in the Black community is real, serious and consequential.
